About ShellTime

Track your shell command history and gain insights into your terminal usage

What is ShellTime?

ShellTime is a powerful tool designed for developers and system administrators who want to understand and optimize their command-line workflow. It automatically tracks your shell command history across all your devices and provides meaningful analytics about your terminal usage patterns.

Whether you're curious about which commands you use most frequently, want to track your productivity over time, or simply need a reliable way to sync your shell history across machines, ShellTime has you covered.

Why I Built This

As a developer who spends countless hours in the terminal, I realized that my command history was a goldmine of insights waiting to be discovered. I wanted to know which tools I relied on most, how my workflow evolved over time, and have a way to access my commands from anywhere.

Existing solutions were either too complex, didn't respect privacy, or lacked the analytics features I was looking for. So I built ShellTime to be the tool I always wanted - simple to set up, privacy-focused, and packed with useful insights.
