Connect ShellTime to your AI assistant

ShellTime ships a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants can query your shell history, AI coding usage and editor activity — and draw charts from them — in natural language.

MCP server endpoint

Add this URL as a remote MCP server in your AI client. Authentication uses OAuth: your client redirects you to ShellTime to sign in and approve read-only access.

Add to Claude

1Open claude.ai and go to Settings → Connectors.
2Click "Add custom connector" and paste the MCP endpoint URL above.
3Claude opens a ShellTime page — sign in and approve the access request.
4Done. Ask Claude about your shell or AI coding activity in any chat.

Add to ChatGPT

1In ChatGPT, enable Developer mode under Settings → Apps & Connectors.
2Click "Create" and add the MCP endpoint URL above with OAuth authentication.
3ChatGPT opens a ShellTime page — sign in and approve the access request.
4Done. Mention the ShellTime connector in a chat to query your data.

Available tools

All tools are read-only and return structured data. The daily and stats tools return complete time series, so your assistant can render charts directly.

Security & privacy

Access is granted through OAuth 2.1 with PKCE — you approve every connection on shelltime.xyz, and tokens are issued per client.
Tokens are read-only: connected assistants can never modify or delete your data.
A connection only ever sees your own data, never other users'.
